about this project
Oil & Water Supplies (Gibraltar) Limited were successful in being awarded the design, manufacture, and installation of a 6 MLD (6,000m³/day) Sea Water Pumping Station for AquaGib Ltd, Gibraltar.
Receiving the instruction to proceed in January 2019 the design and manufacture of this prestigious pumping system took over 9 months to complete and install
The new pumping station will supply two intermediate tanks on the rock, using the latest Grundfos energy efficient IE5, inverter driven submersible pumps at flow rates of 440m3/hr at pressures between 11 & 14 Bar
Working in Conjunction with NRB Electrical, from Derbyshire UK, the system comprises of the following equipment
- Sub Sea Support Framework
- 3 x Grundfos SP 215 5R 92 KW Submersible Pumps
- 3 x Grundfos CUE Inverter Drives
- 2 x Grundfos CU352 controller units
- 2 x Siemens PLC Units c/w fibre optic communication
Oil & Water Supplies (Gibraltar) strive to offer more energy efficient solution not only to AquaGib Limited but to the whole of Gibraltar.
The new pumping station is delivering an energy saving of approximately 48 % from the power absorbed from the old system. This equates to an energy saving of 1,543 Kw/day
